Please prepare yourself emotionally because we have big news. Molly and Bear are available now for adoption. These two lovely purebred Pomeranians are affectionate, easygoing, people-oriented little companions with manners to die for.

Since coming into our care, they have been perfect little house guests. They go outside, take care of business, and come back ready to resume their regularly scheduled programming.

If that excites you as much as it excites us, read on.

Molly and Bear came to us from a longtime, loving home where they were cherished members of the family. Sadly, their owner’s circumstances changed in a serious and unexpected way, and he found himself no longer able to provide the level of care and stability all of his dogs deserved.

This was not a case of neglect or lack of love. It was the heartbreaking kind of surrender that happens when life falls apart and someone makes the painful but responsible choice to ask for help before the dogs are left without options.

Now Molly and Bear are safe with rescue, and our job has been to get them healthy, comfortable, and ready for the next chapter.

Molly and Bear have had full veterinary exams, bloodwork, updated vaccines, and dentals. They received clean bills of health and are now each ready to begin looking for their forever person.

They have done well with household routines and are beautifully house trained.

They are affectionate, easy to live with, and deeply people-oriented. These are not dogs who want to vanish into the background of a busy pack. They want a person. A real person. A lap, a routine, a life where they are included in the ordinary little things that make up a day.

They do not need to be adopted together. In fact, we believe each of them would flourish as someone’s cherished little center of gravity.

And because we’re a serious rescue doing serious work, we obviously checked their horoscopes. Is this science? No. Is it suspiciously accurate? Unfortunately, yes.

Bear: The Bare Necessities Bear

The Bare Necessities Bear

Bear, a black and tan Pomeranian with a soft, sparse coat, sitting on the grass.

Also known as The Minimalist Gentleman, The Peach-Fuzz Snack Baron, and Sweet Baby Bear.

Bear’s Mini Horoscope

Born: December 28, 2017
Zodiac sign: Capricorn Sun
Chinese zodiac: Fire Rooster
Official title: The Bare Necessities Bear

Bear is a Capricorn, which explains the dignity, the devotion to routine, and the firm belief that meals should arrive at sensible intervals. Preferably on a schedule. Preferably early. Preferably with someone nearby saying what a handsome boy he is.

Bear is a tiny black and tan Pomeranian gentleman whose coat has softened into a gray, peach-fuzzy little masterpiece. He has dark expressive ears and the face of a tiny storybook character who wandered into real life, looked around politely, and asked when lunch was being served.

Bear has alopecia X, a cosmetic coat condition seen in Pomeranians. It affects his coat. It does not affect his ability to live a healthy, happy, wonderful little Pom life. His coat has gone minimalist. His star power remains fully intact.

Bear has entered his sweater era, and we support his journey. But let us be clear. Bear is already excellent in his Bare necessities. Sweaters are optional. Snacks are not. Being adored is the main event.

The ears deserve special mention. Most of the time, they rest softly back into his round little face. Then you say his name, or mention a treat, and up they pop like two tiny satellites. It is ridiculous. It is perfect. We have lost much time watching it happen.

Bear is not looking for chaos or a busy social calendar. He is a gentle little soul and an absolute cuddlebug, soft in the ways that matter most and very easy to adore. His great happiness is being near you. He moves well, enjoys his little routines, and takes pleasure in the small, sensible luxuries of life. A gentle walk sounds good. A calm afternoon sounds good. A lap sounds excellent. A treat for being handsome, brave, available, or technically present also sounds good.

He does not ask for much, and somehow makes the whole house feel kinder for having him in it.

He wants someone who sees how special he is, and who understands that a gentleman of his caliber should not be expected to face sweater weather unprepared.

Perhaps there is a Bear-shaped space in your life. Soft, sweet, sweater-ready, and just the right size.

Sweet Baby Bear is ready for his person.

Best match: A calm home with laps, kindness, snacks, and optional knitwear.
Favorite aesthetic: Cozy gentleman chic.
Warning label: Treat enthusiasm may exceed local regulations.

Also known as Molly Pop, Freckles, Parti in the USA, and Your Girl Friday.

Molly’s Mini Horoscope

Born: November 1, 2018
Zodiac sign: Scorpio Sun
Chinese zodiac: Earth Dog
Official title: Your Girl Friday

Molly is a Scorpio, which explains the bright eyes, the focus, and the way she commits fully to everything she does. A lap, a walk, her person, treats, whatever interesting thing might be happening next, Molly is up for the adventure.

Her Earth Dog energy gives her that loyal, steady, quietly competent quality. She wants to be close to her person and included in the ordinary little rituals of the day.

On her first day with us, Molly was understandably nervous at the vet, but the vet clocked her almost immediately.

“This one needs a job.”

So the clinic was made safe for her to wander, and Molly was allowed to explore every room. It turns out the vet was right. She really did just need a job. She moved through the clinic like a tiny inspector making her rounds. You could practically see her settle once she had something to do.

That’s Molly. Give her a little purpose and she settles right in.

Molly wants to go where you go, sit where you sit, and help with whatever is on the agenda. Laundry? She can supervise. Emails? She can sit by your feet. Emotional support? Finally, a department where she is fully qualified.

A parti Pom with cute little freckles and the kind of classic black-and-white coat that goes with everything, your outfit, your routine, your entire life. She is sweet, observant, and quietly convinced that your life would run better with a devoted little assistant nearby. In other words, Molly is your Girl Friday.

She is beautifully house trained, agile, and deeply cuddly. Whether she is keeping up on a brisk walk or keeping you company through a day of binge-watching on the couch, Molly understands the assignment. Hold her, kiss her, squeeze her, and she just soaks it all up. Molly does not merely tolerate love. Molly absorbs it.

Molly’s needs are not complicated. She wants a person. Not just a house. Not just a place to land. Her very own person. She would be a wonderful match for someone who wants a true companion, a dog who gets to be part of their story. Because that’s the thing about Molly. She really does match everything, especially the right someone.

Best match: Someone who wants a sweet, intelligent little companion to co-pilot daily life.
Favorite aesthetic: Black and white goes with everything.
Warning label: May quietly judge inefficient systems.
